Refrigerated Dryers

Refrigerated dryers are the most common type of compressed air dryer as they are easily installed and are cheap and cost-effective to purchase and run. Compressed air refrigerant dryers remove water by cooling the compressed-air temperature and causing condensation.

An internal moisture separator collects the liquid water and sends it to a drain. These dryers tend to be used in general plant operations where the final air application requires clean dry compressed air. They may not be suitable for more-critical processes that demand extremely dry air or a minus dew point.
